The campaign aims to to educate  people about concussion signs and recovery, support people who have sustained a concussion, and change common misconceptions about concussion. New Online Directory Launches at BIAV

Looking for a brain injury service or program in your area? We’ve got you covered with our NEW and IMPROVED online database of brain-injury specific programs and services. We redesigned our database with you in mind – it’s easier to search, provides more useful information, and lets you print your search results, save them to a PDF document, and bookmark them for later viewing. Welcome New Board Members

Trish Smith is a resident in counseling and sexual and domestic violence counselor at Safe Harbor in Richmond, Virginia. She has a passion for working with, and supporting, survivors of brain injury with a special interest in working with survivors who have acquired brain injury from intimate partner violence. Trish looks forward to joining the BIAV team and serving all survivors of brain injury and their loved ones across Virginia!

Alex Watson is an MSW and Veteran Advocate in the Supported Services for Veteran’s Families Program at Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation . She has worked alongside brain injury survivors in the field for almost ten years at a vocational rehabilitation program. The brain injury community touched her heart distinctly and she feels called to improve the lives of brain injury survivors. She considers it an honor and a joy to be able to make a difference in a brain injury survivor’s life and she looks forward to being a part of BIAV and being an active change agent!
