From the Oval Office
I’m excited to announce that it has been about a month with new representatives from each of the classes. Every year the students in each grade level elect 5 people to represent their class in SGA. One of the primary jobs SGA has is sponsoring student led clubs. We sponsored 40 clubs this term, and most of them have put together many events for students to enjoy on campus.

Within SGA, we also have different committees: Activities Committee, Academic Affairs Committee, and Campus Life Committee. The Activities Committee works to create events to make the weekends more exciting for the students, the Academic Affairs Committee works to create a more successful academic life for the students, and the Campus Life Committee works to create a better campus environment for the students. Each of the committees have met and created a term goal to implement positive changes for the students.

Overall, SGA's first term has been pretty successful with many clubs, events, and meetings!

Apply for The Smith Scholarship
The Smith Scholarship rewards students who have either given back to their communities through service or have cared for family members while managing their own academic responsibilities. It is about more than just academics. It acknowledges students who have shown great maturity in overcoming hardships in their lives and have done good things for the people around them. It is recommended students try to submit early for this because it gives them a good long time to read the application. We have had multiple students win this scholarship, and it has helped them out quite a bit.
