September News & Updates
Fast fact: When it was a motel, each room at Twin Oaks had air conditioning.
Visit us tonight at the Walworth County Fair

If you're at the Walworth County Fair tonight, we'll be in North Hall at the  Elkhorn Chamber of Commerce table from 6-8pm. Stop by and say hello to Elizabeth, our Twin Oaks manager and Lynette, our Transitional Living Program case manager.

We'll have lots of freebies, information about our housing programs and...tickets to Saturday's pig roast!
Our Pig Roast is almost here!
Thanks to the generosity of a private donor, we are having a pig roast at Carvetti's in Lake Geneva. All proceeds support Twin Oaks.

Saturday, September 10
3:00-6:00pm
Tickets $30 in advance, $35 at the door

RSVP to Beth at (608) 313-1319 or info@community-action.org. Can't make it? Please consider sponsoring the pig roast service fee, which  is $300 not included in the original donation. Contributing organizations will be featured on our Facebook page, signs at the event and in post-event publicity.
Your support in action

A Twin Oaks resident is helping the nine school-age children living at the shelter start the school year.

Glauri coordinated a school supply drive for the students, and is also organizing donations of clothing and shoes as the kids head back to the classroom while living in the homeless shelter.

What we're learning this month

Twin Oaks residents participate in mandatory workshops during their stay. These workshops supplement our one-on-one case management to ensure families are ready to move past their housing crisis.

In September, our focus is budgeting. Residents are evaluating where their money is going, learning to stretch their grocery budget, and finding the best ways to build credit.

Have a workshop idea? Call us at (262) 882-3662.
