Non-Profit Knowledge Sharing!

In January our program leaders had the opportunity to travel to Louisville, Kentucky to visit with and learn from two other amazing organizations providing shelter and housing services to children and youth: the Safe Place Program at the YMCA of Louisville and Home of the Innocents . Our team was excited to bring back that knowledge to support our growing services here at Pendleton Place.  We are grateful to both peer organizations for so graciously sharing their time and expertise with us!

Jordan Hemphill, YRC Independent Living Specialist, said  "Seeing the work that Safe Place is doing in KY makes me so excited to bring Safe Place to Greenville. I'm grateful to work for an organization that seeks to meet the needs of the community in every way possible."

Executive Director Jed Dews added, "Home of the Innocents and Pendleton Place have a remarkably similar history, and we look forward to replicating some of their highly effective services for youth experiencing homelessness."

Donor Spotlight: First Baptist Greenville

Pendleton Place is honored to partner with First Baptist Greenville to serve our community's most vulnerable youth.  On February 2, Jed Dews, Executive Director, and Josh Crocker, Youth Resource Director, joined many other local organizations for First Baptist's Foundation Sunday to celebrate the church's investments and generous support.

Volunteer Spotlight: Wendy Dolven

This month, we would like to highlight Pendleton Place volunteer, Wendy Dolven.  Wendy is a regular volunteer in our donation closet and can always be counted on to show up with a smile and jump right in to tackle whatever is needed that day.  In addition to her ongoing work sorting and organizing donations, over the past few months she has also been an event volunteer at Arizona Rock'N on the Runway, helped take down Christmas decorations, and assisted with a big effort that involved rearranging rooms in preparation for our shelter opening.

Wendy says  "I really enjoy volunteering at Pendleton Place. The schedule is flexible and the staff is so friendly and appreciative of the time I spend there. It's rewarding to help an organization that's so vital to our community."

Thank you Wendy for your support and all that you do for Pendleton Place!
