Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church
Worship Focus for October 14
Rev. Karin Kennedy Hejmanowski, preaching

This month we are spending time in the Psalms together. Last week Pastor Hardy led us in looking at a psalm of praise, rejoicing in the experience of life being good. This week we’ll take a bit of a turn and look at a psalm of lament…a psalm wherein the author is not feeling so great about how life is going. All of us go through both kinds of seasons.

In addition to our time together in worship, I hope you’re planning on joining us after the 10 a.m. service for our Community Picnic at Las Palmas Park just over a mile from the church in Sunnyvale. It will be a wonderful time with The Music School providing some entertainment, many of our preschool families and staff present, and lots of games and activities. We still need volunteers, so go to the church website and sign up to help make the fun happen! Lunch tickets will be available at the picnic ( or purchase them ahead of time here). Bring a dessert to share and just know that most of the parking is street parking. There will be no coffee service after worship so folks can head straight to the picnic.

We have so much to celebrate together, both in worship and as we share life at the park. Our community changes with each person that is present or missing—I hope you’ll be able to join us for worship at 7:50 a.m., 10 a.m., or 5 p.m. as well as at the picnic.

See you soon!

Theme for Sunday

Your foes have roared within your holy place; they set up their emblems there. At the upper entrance they hacked the wooden trellis with axes. And then, with hatchets and hammers, they smashed all its carved work. They set your sanctuary on fire; ...
