Even though some of this loss is sadly attributable to the pandemic, it's clear the big reason for our state’s decline is that people chose to move away from Massachusetts last year.
We know why. Despite the many wonderful reasons to live in Massachusetts, Beacon Hill leaders keep implementing policies that drive people away.
Massachusetts residents are flocking away from vaccine and mask mandates and seeking refuge in states like Florida, where their rights are respected. Bay Staters are moving away from high taxes here and protecting their nest egg by moving to New Hampshire. Businesses that find it tough to survive are picking up stakes and relocating elsewhere. Parents are frustrated by schools that don’t give them a say in their kids’ education.
When government takes away peoples’ rights, their money, and their freedom, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. People move away.
Fortunately, it doesn't have to be this way. We can do better!
My campaign is aimed at making Massachusetts a better place to live. As your next Governor, I will stand up against policies that drive people and businesses away from our state.
I’ll fight against mandates that take away your freedom and taxes that take away your money. I’ll make it easier for businesses to compete and grow jobs here. And, I’ll respect your right to make education decisions for your children.
It's time to reverse the trend. Let’s make Massachusetts a place where people want to stay and thrive. KathyJo and I chose to make Massachusetts our home because we love living here, and I want our next generation to feel the same way about our state.
