NCADEMI needs your input!

Over the next two months, we’re collecting information about the resources and services needed – nationwide – to improve the accessibility of digital materials used in schools. We know you’re working hard to ensure students with disabilities have the same access to the general education curriculum as students without disabilities. Tell us: How can NCADEMI support you?

Surveys

Our Surveys target all of the populations we serve: State Educational Agencies (SEAs); Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) and schools; Part C Lead Agencies & Early Intervention/Early Childhood Education; Parent Centers; Pre- & In-service Preparation Programs; and OSEP TA&D Centers and Stepping-Up Technology Projects.

Watch for us at SXSW EDU!

Our Staff will present "Tools for Teachers to Become Digital Accessibility Designers" on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 1:30PM CST.

Learner characteristics vary broadly, yet most digital materials are not designed to be responsive to physical, sensory, or cognitive differences, including teacher-created documents, slides, videos, and more. Teacher-created materials are the most common form of non-textbook materials used in schools, but they can be a significant barrier for students with disabilities. Fortunately, free tools are available through funding from the U.S. Department of Education to help teachers create digital materials that are not only accessible, but innovative in flexibility and personalization.
