On Thursday, November 14, HPL's Downtown Library was bursting with color and creativity at this year’s Annual Rangoli Contest, held to celebrate Diwali!
Rangoli is an art form that originated in India. It involves making intricate designs using bright-colored sand or powder. The word "rangoli" is derived from the Sanskrit word "rangavalli," which means "rows of colors." Rangoli is a traditional practice that can be used to welcome guests, celebrate occasions, symbolize wealth, and express creativity.
Thank you to our participants for creating such stunning designs and vibrant patterns!
