Hi everyone,

Wow, what a crazy couple years it's been trying to get this project off the ground.  Construction delays, permit delays...so many delays I couldn't even list them if I wanted to.  We were looking at opening for Memorial Day weekend and then the 4th of July, and it ended up being September.

We arranged to host a Hard Cider Run 5K on the 10th of September this year, thinking we'd have had plenty of time to get any kinks out by then.  Instead, Saturday ended up being our race AND our first day open.  So these last couple weeks have been major crunch time.  Matt and Fran, especially, put in massive hours to get everything up and running.  We had 500 people lined up for cider this past weekend. But the good news--it seemed to go REALLY well.

If you missed the race this time, don't worry.  It's probably going to become an annual event for us.  We're already looking to host again next year (which will be in the spring instead of the fall, so start working on your hill training now!).

But on to the important stuff.  We are now open on Saturdays from 12 - 9pm!!!  We're still working on a ton of things behind the scenes, including kegging a whole lot more cider and pressing this year's grapes as they're picked, but we have enough done that we want to start sharing.

Right now, we have Bent Ladder Original as well as Heirloom on draft.  We're intending to get a third style on draft for this weekend if we can...probably a Hopped Cider.  And as we get things done over the next few weeks, we'll be making quite a few more ciders available and expanding our hours.

It's about time for me to get to work, but I'll try to answer a few of the most common questions we've been getting, so keep reading if you're interested.  I'll talk to you again soon,

-Chris
FAQs

Do you offer samples?  Yes.  But the state of Ohio makes us charge for them, so they are 25 cents.

Do you sell your cider to take home?  Yes, we sell 32 oz. howlers and 64 oz. growlers for take-home consumption.

But I have a bunch of growlers at home already. Can I bring my own for you to fill?  Yes, as long as it's a 32 oz. or a 64 oz. and it MUST have the Government Warning about consuming alcohol printed on it.  If it doesn't have the printed warning, we can't fill it.

Do you have food available?  Yes, this past weekend we made up some beautiful cheese boards, as well bread and oil plates.  We also had oyster crackers and Chex mix available as palate cleansers.  While the offerings may change, we will always try to have at least a few different things available.

Can we bring in our own food and drinks?  No.  In the interest of creating the best experience possible for everyone who comes to our tasting room, we are limiting food and beverages to what we have on site.  No one likes to smell someone else's stinky food while they're trying to enjoy their drinks.

Can we book your tasting room for our event? Eventually we will be able to host events of limited size.  But for now, we have a lot of things to still finish up before we can start taking any reservations.

How about weddings?   Give us some time, and we'll see.
