What's New at the 2023 Run and Walk?

Momentum is building for the 2023 Bronson Children's Hospital Run & Walk - and we have a lot to tell you about!

This year we have a number of new children's activities and will be adding a second tent to accommodate the fun. There will also be expanded award categories to include the top three male, female and non-binary runners in 15 age categories, along with overall winners.

We are thrilled to announce our honorary starter for the Run & Walk will be the new WMU Broncos football coach Lance Taylor. Taylor and his wife, Jamie, recently toured the Children's Hospital and are eager to offer their support.

We hope you'll join us by registering yourself or a team, or by making a donation.

Promoting Safety at the Beach

Great news in South Haven as 13 new life jacket loaner stations have been fully funded thanks to a number of Foundation donors. This Safe Kids Greater South Haven project provides life jackets at locations along the Lake Michigan shoreline for visitors to use while they are enjoying the beach. Staff from Bronson Wellness Center and Safe Kids Greater South Haven build the boards, and the City of South Haven installs them. Loaner stations are already in place at north and south beaches.

Game Time at Bronson Children's Hospital!

Patients at Bronson Children's Hospital are enjoying new video game consoles which help them to pass the time during an inpatient stay. The new consoles are pre-loaded systems so patients have easy access to a wide variety of age-appropriate games. The previous systems operated through the internet and were not accessible to behavioral health patients due to safety concerns. The consoles were made possible through a generous grant from the Jim Gilmore Jr. Foundation.

Spreading Christmas Joy in July

Bronson Children's Hospital became the hub of holiday activity for a day this month, thanks to the generosity of patient Jude Boussom. Jude's wish through Make a Wish Michigan was to provide a Christmas in July experience for hospitalized children. Patients enjoyed visits with Santa, selecting toys from the North Pole, and completing fun craft projects.
