Work alongside nonprofit leaders to strengthen organizational capacity and increase community impact.

Prince George’s County faces challenges due to a high number of under-resourced nonprofits, impacting service delivery to the community. To address this, Employ Prince George’s and the Prince George’s County Workforce Development Board initiated the Nonprofit Capacity Building Initiative. This program aims to enhance the capabilities of local nonprofits and improve service delivery by creating a network of workforce development service providers.

The initiative, in partnership with the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations, offers a 24-month training program for nonprofit executive directors, staff, and board members in Prince George's County. Participants can receive support including up to $5,000 in funding, a free annual membership with the Maryland Association for Nonprofit Organizations, and guidance for Standards for Excellence recognition/accreditation. The upcoming cohort starts in Fall 2025, with a virtual information session on June 10th and an in-person session on June 26th.
