Qualified candidates must have an undergraduate degree, preferably in a field related to the arts and at least three years of directly related experience, preferably serving as Executive Director of a non-profit agency or equivalent. Previous grant writing experience and demonstrated success in working collaboratively with volunteers is required. Hillsborough Art Walk Last Fridays: 8/31
Hillsborough Art Walk Last Fridays showcases the talents of local artists in walkable historic Hillsborough. Park once and enjoy art galleries, artist studios, boutiques and award-winning restaurants.

The Hillsborough Arts Council Gallery and Gift Shop   at 102 North Churton Street presents “Sweet Fortunes and Earthy Finds" featuring Stacy Crabill's mixed media and Russell Knop's pottery. 
The Hillsborough Gallery of Arts   at 121 North Churton Street presents “ColorFull” featuring paintings by Chris Graebner and Lolette Guthrie and blown glass by Pringle Teetor.
The Hillsborough/Orange County Chamber of Commerce   at 121 North Churton Street, Ste. 1C, presents "Close to Home" featuring paintings by Karin Neuvirth and Sharon Barnes. 
The Hillsborough Artists Cooperative and The Skylight Gallery   at 102 West King Street present the Media Arts Exchange Screening and Photography Show as well as art by studio artists Jayne Boomberg, Tom Guthrie, Jennifer E. Miller, Andrea DeGette, Mame Cotter and Jacquelin Liggins. 
Thomas Stevens Gallery   at 126 West King Street presents a colorful selection of local landscapes plus 25-year retrospective figures, portraits, drawings, and sculpture by Thomas Stevens.
ENO Gallery at 100 South Churton Street presents “Summertime”, a group exhibition of gallery artists.
Margaret Lane Gallery   at 121 West Margaret Lane presents "Wings, Wheels and Rails". The gallery will be filled with transportation images from local and visiting artists, including Kevin Flynn Bell, R. Chamberlin, William Hill, David Knox, Ray LaMantia, Nancy Ellen Walker, and Barbara Younger, working in an array of media.
K’s Closet   at 200 North Churton Street presents “Farewell Hillsborough”. This is K's Closet's final Art Walk event before the store closes.
Orange County Historical Museum at 201 North Churton Street presents "Women of Orange County".
Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston at 106 South Churton Street presents "Unique Angles: Hillsborough from a Different Vantage Point", a group photography exhibition.
The Paynter Law Firm at 106 South Churton Street, S uite 200, presents several artists including Cindy Redman, Ariana Stokes, and jewelry designer Tiffany Cole.
Cedar Walk Wellness Center at 147 West King Street presents "Local Collections 2007-2018" featuring Ashley Swindoll.

Last Fridays Concert with Second Set: 8/31
Join us for some Soul, Beach, Motown, Top Forty and Dance music at the Historic Orange County Courthouse with Second Set . The four band members hailing from Burlington will play from 6:30 - 9:30 pm. Artists, food vendors, craftspeople, nonprofit groups and politicians will set up their wares on the sidewalks around the courthouse. Please be sure to visit downtown and West End restaurants & retail shops and the Art Walk while you are in town! Learn more about Last Fridays here .
River Park Concert Awesome Beans Fundraiser: 9/3
Making plans for Labor Day weekend? Take a staycation and support an awesome cause. Head to Nash Street Tavern for a $10 bottomless bowl of award-winning red beans & rice made by David Hays, tasty beverages served by Nash Street Tavern and good time music from the Couldn't Be Happiers. Calling all Painters! Register for Paint it Orange 2018
The Hillsborough Arts Council (HAC) and the Orange County Arts Commission (OCAC) will host the 2nd Annual Paint it Orange Plein Air Paint-out Fundraiser October 19-21. For three days, local and visiting artists will experience the beauty, charm, and rich history of Orange County by painting en plein air, capturing the landscapes and landmarks signature to our region. Last year’s event drew 50 artists from seven states and showcased 115 works of art. To allow for additional growth, HAC and OCAC have partnered with C3 Hillsborough , a beautiful new co-working space in Downtown Hillsborough, to co-host the exhibit and events. Registration is $25 on or before October 1, $30 after October 1. Register here .
Register for a Puppet-Making Workshop on 8/8 & 8/9 and/or Sign Up to be in the H andmade Parade: 10/14
The Parade is October 14 and YOU can be in it! Check out this web page to register for a hands-on puppet-making workshop and to sign up to be in the Parade. Please, review carefully the workshop descriptions and register for the one most appropriate for your availability and the age of participants. If you prefer working behind the scenes sign up to volunteer at the workshops or on the day of the parade by completing this volunteer interest form .
Booth Design for Fairs, Festival and Shows: 10/6
In partnership with  Margaret Lane Gallery , we are offering this Hillsborough Artist Workshop facilitated by Suzan Scribner-Reed and designed for artists who are new to displaying their work and those who wish to refine their skills and learn new tips and techniques for more successful displays. Participants will leave with key considerations and steps in setting up and displaying their artwork. The workshop, limited to 8 people, will be held on Saturday, October 6, 10 am to 12 pm at Margaret Lane Gallery. Register .
