Working Behind the Scenes

“For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose” (Philippians 2:13 NIV).

Dear Church Family,

Have you ever heard the phrase “working behind the scenes”? It refers to activity that takes place quietly, without drawing attention to itself, often while something else is happening publicly. This phrase originated in the theater, where behind-the-scenes workers ensured a smooth performance by changing sets, removing and adding props, and adjusting the lighting.

In a similar way, God is working behind the scenes in our lives. Though hidden from our sight, God is working to give us the best possible resources, support and guidance even when we’re not aware of it.

Just as a stagehand’s goal is to support the performance without drawing attention to themselves, God’s work behind the scenes is meant to empower us to shine in our daily lives. As we go about our daily routines, may we remember that God is working tirelessly to equip us with everything we need to be a living example of Christ in our world. May we be prepared to engage with His guidance and live our lives to the fullest.

Reflection Question: How can you trust God’s work behind the scenes in your life today?

In the eternal fellowship,

Dr. Richard Childress

Patrick's Musical Passages

We ought to conduct ourselves in the truth. Those who are true are obedient to the truth. It is reflected in a sincere love for one another from the heart (1 Peter 1:22). For love rejoices in the truth (1 Cor 13:6) and in our testimony of the message of the Gospel of

salvation (Eph 1:13) that leads others to believe in Him (John 19:35).

All people need to be saved and come to the knowledge of the word of truth through repentance (1 Tim 2:4, 2 Tim. 2:25). That truth is transforming us to be like Him in true righteousness and holiness (Eph. 4:24). Then we can worship in the Spirit and in truth (John 4;23), offering ourselves a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God (Romans 12:1).

We’ve a story to tell to the nations

That shall turn their hearts to the right

A story of truth and mercy

A story of peace and light.

We’ve a message to give to the nations

That the Lord who reigneth above

Hath sent us His Son to save us

And show us that God is love.
