Aloha kākou!

Can you believe it? We are only one month away from the primaries! Did you also know that only 55% of registered voters in our district actually voted in the primaries last election? In Hawaii, one could argue that the primaries are even more important than the general elections. Your vote matters. Make sure your voice is heard this year.

If you are registered to vote, you should be receiving your primary ballots in the mail by July 26th. If you are not registered to vote (yet), you can easily register online and can register at any time. All you'll need is your Hawaii Driver License or Hawaii State ID, and your Social Security Number.

If you don't have the documents above, or would prefer you register via paper, you can submit your paper voter registration application to your County Elections Division by August 3rd.

Also, this year, you can vote either in-person or by mail! The closest in-person voting center for us is Honolulu Hale (530 S. King Street). In-person voting & on-site voter registration is available 8/1 to 8/12 from 8 am to 4:30 pm, and also on 8/13 from 7 am to 7 pm. Learn more here.

District 26 Pulse | Updated Survey Results
Thank YOU for participating in our 3-minute survey. We recently refreshed our survey results with responses collected through June 30, 2022. 80% of those polled believe there should be term limits on the Hawaii State Legislative Branches. It's obviously time for new ideas and new voices, and with every House & Senate seat up for election this year, it is a perfect year to vote in fresh new perspectives who will put you first.

76% of those polled believe we are too dependent on tourism. I agree. We need to diversify our economy into new, inelastic industries such as agriculture, alternative energy, and technology. In doing so, we must also work with our education systems to ensure we are training our children and workforce for new types of jobs. Read more here.

It was a week of Candidate Fairs...
We had a wonderful time at the Lanakila Senior Center Candidate Fair. Thank you for the Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center and Catholic Charities Hawaii for hosting this year's Candidate Fair. It was great talking story with everyone who attended!

It was also wonderful seeing so many community leaders and advocates present. If elected, I look forward to working together with our leaders on both the City & State sides to find solutions to our State's complex issues like our rising cost of living, homelessness, crime, and economic growth.
