It’s a collector’s weekend!
Stan Trecker, Dean Emeritus of Lesley University will present the award to Robert Klein.
Deborah Willis, photographer, curator, author and educator will present the award to Arnika Dawkins.
Saturday November 14th will be filled with virtual artist events.
Some examples are:
W.M. Hunt, the great champion of photography as a collector, curator and consultant, will talk about how to collect photography, what to collect in photography and what he collects and our auction. The program is at 3 PM on November 14, 2020.
Barbara Hitchcock, former Director of Cultural Affairs for the Polaroid Corporation and former curator of the Polaroid Collection will have a one-on-one discussion with Arno Rafael Minkkinen, who is featured in our auction. The program is at 7 PM on November 14, 2020.

Drew Epstein will host a question and answer program called “Ask Me a Copyright Question.” Here’s your opportunity to get your gnawing copyright questions answered by a copyright expert.
Drew is the president of the Griffin Museum of Photography’s board of directors and a copyright attorney. He advises and represents many industry photographers. His program is on November 15, 2020 at 1 PM EST.

We may charge for some of our virtual programs although a high amount of our programs are free. We have low yearly membership rates and low entry fee to our yearly juried show. We have distance memberships, photo educator discounts, senior discounts, 1 member-open exhibition a year (that we promise to bring you every year), free member reviews with the executive director 1 time a year and NARM reciprocal benefits for those who join at the Friend rate and above.
The Griffin Museum of Photography is proud to also participate in the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s EBT Card to Culture program, a collaboration between the Mass Cultural Council and the Executive Office of Health and Human Services’ Department of Transitional Assistance. We offer free general admission to our exhibitions (does not include programming) with a valid EBT and/or WIC card for up to four additional family members with card holder.
The Griffin Museum of Photography is also a Blue Star Museum. As a Blue Star Museum in 2020, we provide free access to our institution for active-duty military, Reserve personnel, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard as well as members of the National Guard, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members from May 18, 2020 through September 2, 2020. Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card for entrance. Free entrance is for admission to our exhibitions only and does not include programming.
For the month of August the Griffin Museum offers free general admission to our exhibitions to Winchester residents (with proof of residency) in honor of Art in August, a collaboration of the Winchester Cultural Council and the Winchester Artist Network. This benefit does not apply to our programming.
