Issue: #14 March 2015

Love and Sex is the focus for 2015 and there's action all around the campaign. Check out the large and small ways you can become involved. You'll find them in this issue. We urge you to claim your voice and raise it for healthy sexuality. Further, we continue to ask you to bring others into the Lay Network and into this vital conversation.

Before our next Newsletter goes out, we will experience the mystery and power of Holy Week and Easter. May the Lord bless you as you journey through this holiest of seasons.

The Surveys  and Beyond

We hope you completed the Synod survey prompted by Pope Francis' desire for lay people around the world to share their experiences on the Church's teachings and practices regarding sexuality, marriage, and family. Thanks to those of you who also completed the Catholic Church Reform International (CCRI) survey for the Synod on the Family in Rome in Oct. 2015. CCRI was collecting responses until March 9, and assured survey takers that these responses would get to the bishops of the Synod as well.

Each of our experiences matters and telling our stories will help the total picture emerge. CCCR/Council of the Baptized is asking what we can do in our own local church to promote healthy psycho-social development in families. First, how big is the problem? Write your story and post it  on the CCCR website. Want more action? We hope so! Here are some other things you can do to claim your voice on this critical set of issues. Need more info? Check out our website.
