We're on Pins & Needles! 🙏🤞
We're Waiting on the Court and Gov. Edwards!
Greetings!

Talk about a season of waiting!

Before the end of June, we will know the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Dobb's v. Jackson Women's Health and the future of Roe v. Wade. We are, without a doubt, hopeful for a complete reversal!

We are also waiting for Gov. Edwards to sign SB 342 and SB 388 into law. Thank you to those of you who have contacted him! If you haven't contacted him yet, please do so today!

Many people have asked us how to respond to the decision. Here are a few thoughts:

  • We would celebrate the reversal of Roe v. Wade, restoring Louisiana's ability to protect unborn babies in Louisiana from abortion.
  • Current state law is clear: unborn babies would be legally protected from abortion immediately on an overturn of Roe. Everyone in Louisiana deserves a chance at life instead of the violence of abortion.
  • But we know our work is not done. We must serve mothers and babies in their time of need. There already is an abundance of public & private resources available in Louisiana to pregnant and parenting moms. And Louisiana just allocated more money to pregnancy help centers and alternatives to abortion.
  • Churches and local communities, we encourage you to become oases for those in crisis pregnancies.

Let's continue to pray for the Supreme Court, for the protection of all life, for support of moms in need, and for peace in our nation when the decision is released.

The PULSE programs train and motivate high school and college students as leaders in the pro-life movement. PULSE Leadership Institute (PLI) is an exciting week for students to dive fully into the pro-life cause. Sessions at PLI go beyond abortion into topics like adoption, euthanasia, and more.

PLI also offers the unique opportunity to engage in hands-on activism, discuss common pro-life topics, and tour a local pregnancy resource center that offers mothers in crisis true, life-empowering choices. Between these empowering sessions are games, a leisure field trip, our PULSE Coffee House talent show, and several fellowship activities so we know students will have a blast at PLI!

On Saturday, June 4th the Youth Programs Team of Louisiana Right to Life spoke at the Post-Roe Summit on the panel “Post-Roe Gen Z Trauma, Healing, and Education”.

This panel addressed various topics such as their experiences on campuses, the expectation of a post-roe world for students, the struggles of reaching youth with the pro-life message...
This summer, the nation waits for the Dobbs v. Jackson decision which could overturn Roe v. Wade and therefore make abortion illegal in Louisiana.

In a spirit of prayer and hope, more than 200 pro-life Louisianan's came together at St. Dominic Church in New Orleans to celebrate the Mass for Life, sponsored by the Archdiocese of New Orleans and Louisiana Right to Life.
