Call for Speakers
We are all in this together!
We are pleased to announce The FPA of Michigan 2022 Annual Symposium on September 22nd and 23rd at the L.V. Eberhard Center in Grand Rapids.

While the Symposium Committee is currently considering speakers and topics, we welcome and encourage members to share your suggestions. Our goal is to deliver timely and relevant thought leadership from the best and the brightest minds in the profession, and to help participants exchange knowledge and insights to become more effective, efficient and prosperous.

If you have speaker and/or topic ideas for the September Symposium, please send your suggestions to the Symposium Committee by way of Mary at [email protected] by March 1st.
Are you looking to hire "top talent"
On Friday, February 4th, the FPA of Michigan will host their Second Annual Student Success Summit for University Students aspiring to enter the financial planning profession. The event has turned into a national event and we have 9 other FPA chapters participating with us this year!

The first portion of the event will offer students an opportunity to hear from top thought leaders in the profession including Daniel Crosby, Ben Carlson, Hannah Moore, and Brett Danko. View the full lineup here.

The day will wrap up with a “virtual career/networking fair”. During the virtual career/networking fair (which will begin at 3:30 pm EST and conclude at 5:00 pm EST), students will have an opportunity to meet with potential employers who are interested in hiring college students from CFP programs for either full-time positions, part-time positions or internships.

How can employers participate?

  • This is a complimentary event for students. We will be giving away scholarships to a few worthy students attending the Summit. Therefore, in lieu of a registration fee for employers to participate in the Virtual Career Fair, we are asking employers to make a donation to the Student Success Summit Scholarship Fund. Donations over $500 will be given in the name of the donor/donor firm which will be announced live during the closing remarks at the Student Success Summit on February 4th.

  • Participating employers will need to provide their own Zoom Meeting Link.

  • Employers will receive a copy of participating students' resumes.

  • If you would like to participate in the "virtual career/networking fair", please complete the registration form here.

If you have comments or questions, contact Mary
at [email protected] or (248) 330-7757.

Building Community
The FPA of Michigan's theme for 2022 is "Building Community". While the FPA of Michigan Committees begin planning programming and events for 2022, we want to make sure we stop and listen to our members. We value your opinion and want to hear from you to help us shape 2022.

Therefore, we would be grateful if you would click here to access a short survey to share your ideas and give you the opportunity to be heard.

Managing your day…we all seek to do that at work and at home but it gets away from us the minute we get out of bed in the morning. The truth is, as women, we are our own worst enemy when it comes to living our lives. You sabotage your ability to be productive by running through life, never taking time to figure out how you’d like to LIVE your life. You have the tools to succeed but because life moves so fast, you don’t have time to employ them properly or even at all. This session will have you “pause” long enough to discover the right steps to take to get out of your own way and live the life you always dreamed of…AND enjoying that first cup of coffee!
Thank you to our Event Sponsor,
JoJo (Josephine) Dries of Highlands Residential Mortgage.
