Brazilian Tour: A Glimpse into the Thriving Ecosystem in Campinas

Stephanie’s recent trip to Brazil was a masterclass in connecting ecosystems. As part of the Cultivar initiative and with partners from St. Louis and Washington, DC - including BioSTL, KWS Gateway Research Center, And More Consulting, and CTC Genomics - the visit included stops at Embrapa's new AgNest Farm Lab, a tour of the ORÍGEO joint venture between Bunge and UPL, and a visit to Inova Unicamp, a model for university-driven innovation. Each stop highlighted the incredible talent and collaborative spirit of the Campinas ecosystem.

Cultivar: Exploring Innovation at the Intersection of AgTech, Biotechnology & Geospatial

We recently had the pleasure of hosting Victor Mondo, from Embrapa in the vibrant Saint Louis innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, immersing him in a series of visits and conversations focused on AgTech, Biotechnology, and Geospatial solutions. St. Louis stands out as a world-class hub and the ideal U.S. landing spot for those looking to develop biotech-driven solutions for agriculture. We are proud to be part of this strategically relevant region, which serves as a gateway to the U.S. agricultural heartland.

Fostering Global Partnerships: Welcoming a Delegation from Córdoba, Argentina

The Yield Lab Institute was honored to host a delegation of 32 remarkable leaders from Córdoba, Argentina, as part of the "Cultivar" initiative. This visit, which culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, demonstrated what is possible when global ecosystems invest in one another to unlock innovation across the Americas.

St. Louis agtech leaders forge agreement with counterparts in Córdoba, Argentina

As part of Cultivar Convergence: Córdoba x STL, leaders in St. Louis’ agtech scene doubled down on their efforts to make the region a global player in the sector with the signing an agreement to collaborate closely with their industry, academic, and governmental counterparts in Córdoba Province, Argentina.

Connecting Global Vision to Local Impact in Argentina

We were honored to visit the offices of The Yield Lab Latam in Argentina and witness firsthand the region's vibrant innovation. Our agenda included a valuable meeting with Nesters Agtech at Agro Uranga and prominent participation in the first-ever AgTech Week in Río Cuarto, hosted by Cluster AgTech. These interactions are crucial for building bridges between Latin America and the rest of the world.

Moving from Discussion to Action

Key Progress at the Agri-Innovation Roundtable in Colombia

We recently received an incredible 72 applications from startups across the globe in response to two key challenges for the Colombian agri-food sector. Of those, 10 companies from six different countries were selected to pitch their solutions to the roundtable members.

In our recent sessions, several cutting-edge startups presented their solutions. The first session, focused on "Digital Tools for Data Use & Traceability," featured Ucropit and Agrobit from Argentina, alongside Tecdeai, Imix, and Croper, all three from Colombia. Subsequently, Session 2: "Solutions to Optimize Productive Soils" showcased Agri from Chile, B4A from Brazil, Listenfield from Japan, and Tropicarbon from Colombia.

What's next? We'll identify specific company interests and explore potential pilot programs for these technologies before year-end. These pilot experiences will be shared with all roundtable members.
