As it reveals ... the museum is undergoing major, essential repairs to heating and cooling systems. But just because our doors are closed (and many of you are staying away from public spaces, anyway), that doesn't mean you can't access the museum's resources!
It doesn't mean that we can't connect with you, our friends and supporters. And it doesn't mean that we aren't hard at work caring for collections, creating new online materials, upgrading our physical space, and planning new exhibits on your behalf.
For families and kids, we're creating safe and engaging ways to deliver educational and fun activities: Things like Zoom talks, online exhibits, and family activities. (To learn more about this, contact Joanna Torow).
For teachers and homeschool instructors, we're putting together new resource packets and digital tools to help students learn about popular topics like Maine’s bicentennial and how people in Maine were affected by past pandemics. (If this is of interest to you, contact Kate Webber).
For our Friends and stakeholders, we'll continue to share inside information and programs as we seek your partnership in strengthening the museum and making it even better and more wide-reaching than before. (Reach out to Amy Waterman if you're curious.)
Just to remind you...
...the museum preserves your natural and cultural history, past and present. Whether it is in an actual or online space, the museum is yours and is here for you!
Let us know how we can best connect with you ... how you'd like to hear from us ... and what sort of programming you'd most like to see. We want to hear from you!
