A MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD CHAIRMAN & PRESIDENT / CEO

Dear Members and Friends,

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has affected all of our lives in countless ways and dramatically changed the landscape of our business community for the foreseeable future. Our hearts go out to everyone who has endured such challenges, and we hope that you and your loved ones are healthy and safe. During these uncertain times, it’s understandable to begin feeling helpless, anxious and overwhelmed. Though we are rightfully in a mode of self-preservation, let’s stay connected by working together, remembering to think of others, and spreading kindness to our seniors and more vulnerable residents.

As a business advocacy organization with 73 years of established history, the Greater North Miami Chamber of Commerce exists to serve as the official “voice” of the local business community. Though our local economy has experienced catastrophic devastation from COVID-19, we will get through this together as a collective--- even if our current version of connectivity entails phone calls, video messages, social media posts and emails. Now more than ever before, our Chamber will stay engaged with you as we are here to serve you as a viable resource.

Let’s strengthen our lines of communication. In case you’re not following our Chamber’s daily updates and announcements on social media, please take a moment to follow our Instagram , Facebook and Twitter accounts for current information addressing emergency business loans, Member profiles, special North Miami features, and general motivation to keep going. Now that our Chamber has transitioned to a virtual platform, we’ll be introducing our new “ChamberDirect” initiative next week, which will include a full schedule of live themed meetings and special events on Zoom, Instagram Live and conference calls. In light of recent business closures and social distancing requirements, ChamberDirect will enable us to resume our activities and keep in touch with you in an immediate, accessible way in real-time.

We’d like to thank our colleagues at the City of North Miami for their demonstrated leadership during a traumatic, unpredictable time in recent history. As we all adjust to our new normal of conducting business in a virtual reality, we are pleased to assist in promoting our local small businesses and essential service providers in our first-ever #ShowLoveForLocal Small Business Resource eGuide , which will be released this month. A flyer requesting entries is included below, so I encourage you to take advantage of this unique opportunity to showcase your service through our Chamber, free of charge.

The Chamber is open online and here to support you and listen with an open mind. We send you well-wishes and positive vibes as we go through this challenging time together.

Sincerely,

Fred Venerin
