We are very excited to announce that UWYV is HIRING! We have openings for Outreach Specialists, AND for a Commonwealth Corps Early Changemaking Innovator (paid service internship). Please read below to learn more about these two rewarding and exciting positions.

The Venture Team, Paws For Psych, joined in at the annual Ashburnham Community Day to help spread the word about their Venture. Paws For Psych is a recently launched Venture whose goal is to make the cost of therapy dogs cheaper for everyone who struggles with mental illness.

They have also just become an official vendor at the Ashburnham Farmer's Market, and will be selling handmade recycled dog toys on the last Saturday of every month to help raise money for individuals who need therapy dogs. This Venture is a great example of how teams can spread Changemaking outside of school!
Our Fitchburg High School Venture, Karate for Kids, just awarded their first scholarship to Me'Yah Newton from Reingold Elementary! Me'Yah was awarded a six-month scholarship worth $600 at Len Brassard's Family Martial Arts Center because of her commitment and passion for the sport!

Karate for Kids launched over a year ago, and their Venture's mission is to create scholarships for children to enroll in a karate program. The team is has already begun preparation on their second scholarship!

Read more about Karate for Kids and our other Ventures on our Facebook Page! (and please "like" our page while you're there - - thank you!)
