Become a decision-maker on the Denver Planning Board or the Zoning Board of Adjustment

Two important boards have vacancies and are actively seeking applicants for these seats.

Denver Planning Board

The Planning Board considers land use matters and makes recommendations to City Council and the Mayor on area plans, zoning code amendments, and rezonings. The board seeks candidates with experience and interest in planning and design, mobility and housing. Candidates from South Denver and neighborhoods identified by the Neighborhood Equity and Stabilization Team are especially encouraged to apply.
Zoning Board of Adjustment

The Board of Adjustment decides cases regarding the Denver Zoning Code and Former Chapter 59. The board hears zoning variance requests and appeals from applicants who believe the zoning administrator erred in a decision regarding the zoning code.

Learn about the climate proposals in the 2022 building code adoption process
As the 2022 Denver Building and Fire Code adoption process continues, multiple proposals to address climate concerns have been introduced. Denver's Department of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency has detailed several that they believe could accomplish more than 90% of what it will take to have Denver on the path to Net Zero Energy by 2030.

These proposals cover space and water heating, energy modeling, renewable energy, and related topics. If recommended by the code committees, these proposals will become available for public input as part of the full Denver Building and Fire Code later this year. Climate-focused proposals are primarily being considered as amendments to the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
