The Delta Stewardship Council is pleased to announce exciting opportunities to join our science and external affairs divisions, both of which will operate in a hybrid work environment.


1.    Public participation liaison and Council clerk: Under the direction of the public participation manager, the public participation liaison serves as the Council clerk, providing independent, day-to-day analytical, technical, and logistical support to ensure that monthly public meetings are organized; meeting materials are developed effectively; and proceedings are recorded accurately; while prioritizing broad audience understanding and public access. This position will also assist the overall Council with developing public participation and stakeholder engagement plans for agency activities and initiatives. Applications are due March 10.

 

2.    Senior environmental scientist (specialist): Under the direction of the adaptive management unit manager, this role integrates social scientific expertise with natural resource management issues in the Delta Science Program. This position leads interagency efforts to integrate adaptive management into project planning in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, plans workshops and symposia that support the practice of adaptive management, and supports reviews of science programs conducted by the Delta Independent Science Board. Additional opportunities exist to engage on topics related to environmental governance, tribal ecological knowledge, and environmental justice, depending on the skills and interests of the incumbent. The Council's headquarters building is in downtown Sacramento. All positions within the Council are telework-eligible. The exact terms of a telework schedule will be negotiated with the hiring manager, depending on the organization's needs.
