Hello friends!

We can honestly say, we CANNOT WAIT to see you all soon! We are very excited to be opening our doors this weekend, and are ready to teach classes, service your equipment, outfit the family or plan your escape to an island destination in the near future.

Opening comes with a new set of guidelines, but we've been preparing the store for our imminent return. We’ve been working hard to keep our staff employed, our techs well trained and our travel staff accessible to you during this crazy time. Time spent cleaning and disinfecting, tuning equipment and freshening the store has also kept us busy during these crazy times. We couldn’t do it without your loyalty and support, so thank you for walking through this time of distance and isolation with us!

A TRIP TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN 2021
If you are ready to plan a dive adventure, let’s talk Summer of 2021.  You can join One World Dive & Travel aboard the Roatan Aggressor !

Once home to over 5,000 known pirates, Roatan is situated just off the coast of Honduras. We’ll be exploring the Bay Islands of Honduras, Utila and Guanaja, known for their sheer walls, mysterious wrecks, and large critters.

The Aggressor fleet is the only way to explore all the Bay Islands, all from the comfort of their luxury yacht.

LET'S GO DIVING!
There is a lot of stress in our world right now! If underwater is your happy place, come jump in our pool to blow some bubbles. 

Here’s what you need to know about pool workouts:
~ Certified divers can rent our pool for $30/person. This includes one tank of air and any gear you need to use.
~ Pool workouts MUST be scheduled in advance. For both insurance and physical distancing purposes we will not double book two groups in the pool. 
~ Pool workouts will be limited to an hour. In order to accommodate scheduling and physical distancing between customers we will be enforcing this time limit.
~ All customers are asked to wear a mask on the retail floor and pool deck.
~ All of our rental equipment is being sterilized after each use. 
~ The locker rooms are continually disinfected, with an emphasis on touch points. 

Until we can travel again, feel free to take advantage of this fun way to relax and unwind. See you underwater soon!
A NOTE FROM OUR SERVICE DEPARTMENT
This time of quarantine has caused a lot of confusion in many sectors of our lives. But one thing that didn't change much is our service department:

  • We kept our knowledge fresh! We used this time that our retail floor was closed to maintain our certifications and learn the newest information about new gear on the market. We’ve always been proud to have the most well trained service team in the state. With this additional time to focus on training, we feel as strongly as ever that our team can help keep your gear well maintained so you are safe on your next adventure.
  • We have a lot of gear here, just waiting to go home! If you dropped off your equipment either before or during our closure, please come retrieve it. You can pick it up without even coming in the store—just give us a call and we will bring it out to you. 
  • Don’t forget to service your gear for the warranty! If your gear requires a spring service (in March, April, or May) make sure to get it in here ASAP to keep your warranty and service history up to date.

NEW PROCEDURES IN PLACE FOR REOPENING
We have been closely watching the recommendations to make sure we are following every precaution and guideline to protect our staff, customers and community. In keeping with Colorado and Tri-County Health’s #SaferAtHome guidelines, we will have the following procedures in place.

For our retail floor:
  • Our retail/instructor staff will be wearing masks for you protection. Please do the same.
  • Please maintain 6 feet of physical distance from our staff and other customers.
  • Curbside pick up is always available for your convenience.
  • Our employees will be sanitizing and cleaning the dive shop routinely throughout the day with an emphasis on high traffic areas and touchpoints.
  • We will be limiting the number of customers in the store, We appreciate your patience if we ask you to wait momentarily outside.

For our SCUBA and snorkeling classes:

  • Limiting class sizes
  • Unfortunately, parents or friends are not allowed to observe classes while physical distance orders are in place.
  • Each class during the day will have their own classroom so there is no shuffling of people or equipment before cleaning can occur.
  • Each student will have their own table, unless they are family members and choose to sit together.
  • All students and instructors will be asked to wear a mask during class and for poolside work (setting up/tearing down equipment). 
  • Students and instructors should always have a scuba mask on their face, and either a regulator or snorkel in their mouth at all times while in the pool, unless asking a question. This is one of the most effective ways to contain any potential droplets, as well as pretty effective PPE against others.
  • Additional cleaning and sanitizing for our regulators, masks, snorkels and BCD inflators.

If you have any questions or concerns about our policies or procedures, please feel free to give us a call or make a suggestion. We are constantly monitoring the recommendations of our government and health officials and doing our best to  do our part and keep our community safe.
VIRTUAL GOPRO SEMINARS
Join us for our virtual GoPro seminar via Zoom and learn about the GoPro from the comfort of your home.
 
Our GoPro Class is filled with tips and tricks to help you shoot YouTube worthy dive videos on your next trip.
 
Join us to learn about settings, shooting techniques, mounts and accessories that will prepare you to start filming dive movies that your friends and family want to see.
 
This 2 hour course includes:
  • GoPro basics to set up the perfect shot
  • Accessories that are worth investing in (and which are not!)
  • Best practices for underwater videography and photography

*Seminar is free if you have purchased your GoPro from One World Dive & Travel. Otherwise, cost is $25. Discussion will focus on the Hero8 and Hero7, but techniques are universal among all cameras.
TIP OF THE MONTH
Packing some snacks for a long-haul flight is always a good idea! And now, with new regulations, meal service might look a little different on airplanes, so some back up blood sugar will help make the long commute to your vacation a little more enjoyable. 
D5 SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.5 NOW AVAILABLE
Looking for something to do to get ready for your next dive trip? Suunto has released a software update for the D5, and brings the following features:
  • Support for Mobile notifications, such as incoming calls and messages, in device
  • Automatic location support in Suunto App
  • Ability to add your dive location to your dive log data either by finding existing ones or creating your own

Pool
POOL NIGHT ~ Whether you have 10 dives logged or 1,000, all divers should jump in the water to refresh and review the skills from the Open Water certification. We offer a couple of ways to review depending on your experience
The pool will be available from 6:00-9:00 pm on the following nights:

  • May 11th
  • June 18th

Rescheduled trips have you miss your two year window to stay fresh? Then our Scuba Refreshers are the choice for you!

SCUBA REFRESHERS ~ If it’s been longer than 2 years since your last dive, then you’ll need a SCUBA REFRESHER. In this four hour class, instructors will share practical tips from their personal experience of diving and jump in the water with you to make sure you are comfortable setting up your gear, controlling your buoyancy and review your emergency skills. The class is offered three times each month, and is often required by a resort if you haven't been diving in a year. If you have been out of the water for longer than 10 years, you will need to schedule this class privately.
