We're Renovating the Youth Center

Pardon our dust while the War Memorial Youth Center is undergoing several improvements as part of an extensive capital improvement program. The City is renovating the basketball courts, repairing all iron gates, wire mesh and bleachers in the field complex, installing a new field irrigation system, and re-grading and re-sodding of the athletic field surface. Coral Gables is Charged Up!
Since installing electric vehicles charging stations in our parking garages this June, Coral Gables has been doing its part to save the environment. In just 90 days, 554 charging sessions have been completed, gasoline consumption has been reduced by 966 gallons, and greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced by 3,232 kilograms.
There are 10 charging stations in three public garages that service City fleet vehicles as well as downtown residents, customers and visitors.  Read more...

The parking lot on 350 Aragon Avenue is now open and under the City of Coral Gables management, offering 78 off-street and nine new on-street parking spaces. Best of all, there will be no aggressive booting of vehicles when metered time has expired. Raising Awareness for PTSD

The Coral Gables Fire Department recently accepted the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue 's call to participate in the "22 Day Push-Up Challenge," which is part of an effort to raise awareness for U.S. Veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.  So far they have raised more than $1,000 for the IAFF Project Stamp Out Stigma and the Warrior Research Institute to help veterans with PTSD. FDOT is doing construction along US1 from Santona Street to Granada Boulevard and at the intersection of Grand Avenue. This project will take four months to complete. There will be periodic lane closures.

FDOT is working on roadway construction of State Road 90/S.W. 8th Street from SW 39th Avenue to east of SW 34th Avenue and at the intersection of LeJeune Road. The project commenced in May and will take about five months to complete. Lane closures will occur only during non-peak hours on nights and weekends. Allow extra time to reach your destination. Obey all posted signs and speed limits.
