We're reopening with you in mind.
Doors open to the public June 20th.
From the Director...
Our staff is back in the office, and we have had the opportunity to reopen the museum to members. Now, we are pleased to announce we are re-opening to the public beginning June 20th. We encourage all visitors to purchase timed tickets available on our website ahead of their visit.

We are taking the step to re-open very seriously and will be initiating precautions with our members, guests, and employees in mind. As a result, significant changes are being made both behind the scenes and in the public spaces.  To learn more about the changes and what you can do to help when visiting the museum, please continue reading this newsletter. If you have a question we haven't addressed here, check our Q&A located on our website. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you in the museum soon!

Here's what to expect.
What's changing at the museum?

  • Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets electronically in advance for a specific time slot to help limit the number of individuals in the museum. Guests who do not have an electronic ticket will be allowed to enter when and if time slots become available.
  • Those visiting the museum will be asked to follow guidelines to facilitate social distancing and healthy sanitary behavior. Signage will be posted throughout the museum reminding guests of these precautions.
  • Touch intensive exhibits or displays will remain closed.
  • Our gift shop will open, but we may cap the number of shoppers at any given time.
  • Special programming such as lectures, book signings, and workshops will be reintroduced later.

To support these efforts, patrons are also asked to play a vital role.

What can I do?
Members and non-members are all encouraged to help with this reopening.
  • Individuals who have been exposed to someone with the virus, or who are running a temperature, or have other virus-related symptoms, are asked not to visit the museum.
  • While face masks are not required, guests are asked to consider wearing one.
  • Individuals are requested to follow the guidelines and instructions, respect others, and be patient with the staff and other patrons as everyone works together to help make your visit an enjoyable experience.
While measures are being taken, please note exposure to Covid-19 virus exists in any pubic facility. Guests should return with this in mind and take any necessary precautions to protect themselves and their family.
