Wish granting in uncertain times.
Our travel wishes may have been put on hold but we're still granting wishes! This month we granted Kynyon’ s wish for streaming equipment, Sofia's wish to train her dog as a service dog, and Lexxi's wish for a home recording studio. Sending packages to our wish kids and receiving videos of their reactions is a different way to make wishes happen, but the impact of a wish come true has remained exactly the same: our wish kids are filled with joy.

Best of all, we continue to meet virtually with our new wish kids, getting to know them through Facetime and Zoom. Here are a few of the wish kids we've met so far:
Nothing brings hope like the promise of a wish.
Thank you for your ongoing support during these unprecedented times. Together we can continue to change the lives of kids in our community, one wish at a time.
May is Legacy Month
In 2019, the family of Martine Partridge launched her cookbook Happy Nomming —a mouth-watering collection of gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo recipes. Happy Nomming is Martine's legacy project: she passed away in 2017 after a brave battle with cancer. She chose Make-A-Wish as the benefiting charity of her cookbook because she believed wishes provide a chance for kids with critical illnesses to embrace their futures and dream big.
You can leave a legacy too.
Legacy projects (like  Happy Nomming   ) or planning to include a gift to Make-A-Wish in your will ensures that future generations of wish children and their families benefit from life-changing wishes. A wish can be an important turning point for a child living with a critical illness, helping them see that anything is possible— especially the future.
Event Update

Make-A-Wish Golf Classic: For 22 years, the Make-A-Wish ® Golf Classic has been an integral part of making wishes happen in our community. Despite having to cancel this year's event, many of our sponsors and donors decided to fulfill their sponsorships anyway. To date the 2020 Golf Classic has raised over $103,000. We are incredibly grateful to the Golf Committee and our supporters for their dedication and generosity.

Rope For Hope: Because the health and safety of our participants, staff and volunteers is our top priority, we are postponing our Rope for Hope events in Edmonton and Red Deer, and rescheduling them for September 2020.

Red Deer Rope for Hope is now scheduled for September 19, 2020
Edmonton Rope for Hope is now scheduled for September 25, 2020

We will continue to monitor the situation and notify all participants if it becomes necessary to modify our event plans further.
