Hi everyone,
This eNewsletter was delayed because right in the middle of creating it last Friday I went down with a migraine. It was very annoying. However, I'm back today and here we are with all our events and offerings.
Work continues on the Unley Civic upstairs areas.

As you can see, the shelving has returned and the team is in the process of reshelving the non-fiction collection into its rightful place.
With the Libraries open and the OneCard Network on the move again, our holds shelves are overflowing. If you have a hold to collect, please drop in to pick it up as soon as possible or if you no longer need it, please give us a ring to cancel it. If you have access to your account online via
our catalogue , you can also cancel it yourself. This will keep items moving and ready for the next person waiting.
We streamed our first live Storytime last week for National Simultaneous Storytime. Karyn and Amelia were so happy to be able to reach out to our community's parents and children. So...we are doing it again! Scroll down for details and to see the recording of last week's live stream. If you have any questions of how to join in, don't hesitate to ask.
Reboot has some help for those of you tackling Zoom meetings at the moment. Scroll down for a link to a handy how-to that might be able to help you out.
Stay safe and we hope to see you soon!

Who would have thought several months ago that the words āZoom meetingā would have become so highly rotated in our vocabulary! Although it was quite a sudden transition, I think we can all agree that these types of online communications are definitely here to stay and are most likely going to continue to be a big part of how we work and communicate.
If you are struggling with the basics of a program like Zoom, please check out this free short online tutorial that goes through how to join a Zoom meeting that someone has invited you to, or how to set-up your own and host a meeting on Zoom:
Getting Started With Zoom
Video Ā© GCFLearnFree.org. Viewed June 2020
Zoom can be used on both computers and mobile devices and is one of the most user-friendly software of its kind, so if you are not sure ā jump in and check it out! It is probably easier than you think.
Our top tips when participating in a Zoom meeting:
- Check your surroundings! If you are using video calling software (especially in a work setting) check your room set-up first for where you plan to take the meeting. Donāt pick anywhere too private and personal.
- It is best if you can do it at a time when you are alone, or shut yourself away from the rest of your household so you donāt get family members wandering past, unwittingly making a cameo appearance at your staff meeting!
- If you are not the one hosting the meeting, have your microphone set on āmuteā until you wish to speak. This way it limits all background noises, allowing all participants to hear more clearly, and also saves you from any cringe moments of your dog suddenly barking or your child calling out to you and taking over the whole meeting!
- And, finally, remember to try and relax. Everyone feels awkward with video calling (it is not always easy seeing our own faces so close up!) and many people are learning to use these types of software for the first time too, so there is nothing wrong with taking some time to get used to it all and admitting that you are unsure how something works.

*Winner Announcement* š
Congratulations to Henry (10) and Grace (7) for their winning entry, 'Wonderland', in our Master Building Challenge #1: Dream Island. We looked at building technique, aesthetics and storytelling to chose this as the winning build. We enjoyed how colourful their build was, and the attention to detail, action and storytelling involved in all the activities going on in Wonderland. The āeverything you ever wanted treeā is spectacular!
Henry and Grace have won a $20 voucher!

The Mother-in-Law by Sally Hepworth visits the complicated relationships between family members and the love-hate relationships that can form - this is not your usual 'evil mother-in-law' story however, so don't let the title put you off! - Jackie.
