OUR CEO ALWAYS MAKING US PROUD

Tejano Center is proud to announce that our President & CEO, Dr. Adriana Tamez has been selected for recognition at the American Heart Association's 2024 Heart of Houston Ball as a Heart Health Community Partner. The American Heart Association reserves this honor for Community Partners who provide the highest level of care and compassion, bringing a special level of warmth and understanding to their profession. 

Dr. Tamez and the Tejano Center team cannot do this work alone. We thank the American Heart Association for this recognition, but most importantly for their partnership in health equity. Our partnership has allowed us to open the (one of a kind) La Tiendita - a food pantry anchored in a case management model with health education and nutritional classes and holistic resource navigation. In 2022 alone, La Tiendita served 10,585 individuals and 3,097 families, distributing 184,413 pounds of food. We are excited to expand our work and partnership into other neighborhoods across the Greater Houston area in 2024.

A day of growth, collaboration, and innovation! Our incredible Tejano Center team came together today at our Synergy Session to share ideas and foster a culture of excellence. Here's to the power of teamwork and the endless possibilities ahead!

On this special occasion, we express our heartfelt gratitude to Graci Garces, our Chief Strategy & External Affairs Officer. Graci has consistently been our cheerleader, setting the tone and, particularly, motivating and pushing us forward. She firmly believes in our collective ability to continually improve, and she, along with her dedicated team, serve as the driving force behind the initiatives that propel our collective growth for the common benefit.
