The Dohmen Foundation
supports community initiative!
The Milwaukee Center for Independence, an affiliate of CFI, received a $60,000 grant from the Dohmen Company Foundation to create a food navigator position. The goal for this role is to help young people create healthy food habits, which can prevent chronic disease.
Two staff members recognized!
We are pleased to announce that two of our staff members were named as notable in their field by BizTimes Media. They are:
  • Mark Stevens, manager of CFI's Children's Programs, was named a Notable Hero in Health Care. Read what the BizTimes said about his efforts to keep our kids safe during the pandemic.
  • Heidi Chada, CFIs vice president of Food Services, was named a Notable Food and Beverage Executive. Read how deserving she is of this honor here.

  • A $30,000 pledge and first installment of $10,000 for children’s behavioral health clinic from the Ralph Evinrude Foundation
  • A $6,000 pledge and first installment of $1,500 from the Gene and Ruth Posner Foundation for children’s behavioral health clinic
  • $5,000 from the Francie Luke Silverman Foundation for technology for our medical day care
  • $1,000 from the Peck Foundation Milwaukee LTD for MCFI general operating support
