Dear MSM Faculty, Staff and Students,
Our 2026 MSM Day of Service is Thursday, April 2! As a community grounded in service, this is our opportunity to come together and make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.
Please take a moment to review the new organizations that were added and sign-up today. We also still need your support with donations!
Read below for more details.
Is Your Participation Required?
A small number of faculty and staff have shared that they have previously scheduled academic commitments that cannot be adjusted due to external speakers or required instructional activities. Faculty and students who have received prior approval from the Interim Dean may proceed with their scheduled academic activities on campus. If you are unsure about your participation, please confirm expectations with your Program Leader.
As a reminder:
- Participation in the MSM Day of Service is mandatory for faculty, staff, and students, except for those in clinical settings with direct patient care responsibilities.
- Morehouse Medicine clinics will remain open.
- MSM campuses will be closed for regular work and classes on April 2 to allow participation in the Day of Service, except for those with prior academic approval as noted above.
- Non-exempt employees should clock in and out for their regular hours and will be paid for the day of service.
- Exempt employees are expected to complete their service hours.
- Morehouse Medicine and Morehouse Healthcare employees will be supported in completing four hours of paid service between now and June 30, 2026.
How Do You Get Involved?
You can visit this link to view and sign up for a service project that resonates with you. The list will be updated with various opportunities, so please check back regularly. Once you sign up, an MSM volunteer coordinator will contact you directly with more details to ensure you are fully prepared before April 2. The majority of the service projects require a 4-hour commitment.
*If you have an organization that you want considered for MSM Day of Service please send an email to marcomm@msm.edu; it must be able to accommodate at least 10 volunteers.
How Do You Record Your Hours?
The volunteer coordinator at each location will have a registration form. You will scan the QR code and enter your name, department, location and volunteer shift. This will help us total our hours to understand our impact!
What Should You Wear?
Show your MSM pride! All participants asked to wear Morehouse School of Medicine, Morehouse Medicine or Morehouse Healthcare paraphernalia.
Please note that organizations may have special guidelines or additional requirements, which the MSM Volunteer Coordinator will communicate to you after you've signed up.
