Greetings!

In this very space at the beginning of May, I shared the exciting news about a matching grant challenge: If The Pink Fund could raise $50,000 between May 1 and June 30, an anonymous donor would match the funds dollar for dollar.

Thanks to ALL of our generous supporters, I am thrilled to share with you today that we have met AND exceeded our $50,000 fundraising goal, raising a total of $96,750!! As a result, The Pink Fund will survive the summer draught and benefit from $146,750 supporting our mission to provide financial support to breast cancer patients in active treatment to cover their non-medical, basic cost of living expenses.

All monies raised from this matching gift drive will be used 100% for the program, providing up to 90 days and $3,000 of financial support for breast cancer patients in active treatment.

I am grateful everyone for your continued support of The Pink Fund and its mission.

Financial Freedom from Sea to Shining Sea
In a few days, we will celebrate Independence Day. At The Pink Fund, we're celebrating financial freedom! From sea to shining sea, $44,386.94 in Real Help Now is on the way to cover July bill payments on behalf of 52 breast cancer patients in active treatment in 24 states.

Giddy with Gratitude: #GAUX-ing Forward
Named after the famed Bordeaux wine, Chateau Margaux, New Yorker Margaux Huff (nee Untracht) has long recognized she enjoys a privileged life. Living by the mantra of working hard and playing hard, Margaux was always looking to do more by volunteering her time and contribute philanthropically to help "my community." But she always struggled to find a singular cause that was personal to her; until a small bump on her left breast led to a series of tests and a biopsy, which led to a diagnosis of breast cancer April 27th.

30-year old Margaux, with the help of her husband, Ryan, sprang into action and 24 hours later had their first appointment with one of the country's best oncologists, and started down the path to treatment and recovery.

"I'm extremely fortunate in every way," Margaux told us. "But I realize there are other women with breast cancer that do not have the same financial means I have. They have the added pressures of dealing with significant financial burdens from the cancer that further exacerbate their ability to fund critical non-medical bills including their mortgage payments, child care, and car loans. There are many people who struggle every day just to make ends meet - and having to choose between fighting breast cancer or feeding your children should not be a decision that they have wrestle with. So, I'm using my diagnosis and my cancer as a means to #GAUXFORWARD and to help people in this situation."

Margaux found The Pink Fund online and after doing her due diligence, and learning of our matching grant, was determined to help meet the match. Her extensive network of friends, family and business colleagues from all over the world have come together and as of June 28th raised $67,237, which includes a matching grant program from her employer HSBC.

Powered by Margaux's effort, The Pink Fund continues to #GAUXFORWARD. We are giddy with gratitude.

They Sure Can Hustle!
At Dancing With The Survivors ® 2015, breast cancer survivors and sisters, Carol Ziecik and Laura Segal, hustled on the dance floor in a quartet to "Groove is in the Heart" by Deeee-Lite. Prior to their performance, a video told their story: Carol, diagnosed in 2014, two years after Laura, carries the BRCA 1 gene; Laura does not. "Had I know then, when Laura was tested, what I know now, I would have been tested," said Ziecik. Segal urges everyone to "be your own advocate."

These Survivor Sisters return to Dancing With The Survivors 2016 in a duet: Co-Chairs of the Host Committee.  "Carol and Laura were instrumental in last year's Dancing With The Survivors fundraising efforts, and it just makes sense to have them as Host Committee Co-Chairs," says Molly MacDonald, founder and CEO of The Pink Fund. The two are contributing to Dancing With The Survivors with a $10,000 sponsorship. As Co-Chairs, Carol and Laura will organize Host Committee members, run Host Committee meetings and ensure all Committee members are raising money in support of The Pink Fund's mission to provide financial support to breast cancer patients in active treatment.
