Typical Iowa weather has us ready for summer then thrown back into winter! At least this week we can really start to get excited about summer with the recent "spring forward" time change, warmer weather and more events to announce!

This Thursday morning at 7:30 AM we'll again visit our friends at KCJJ - The Mighty 1630 to share the line-up for the Friday Night Concert Series! You'll notice lots of old favorites and some new and exciting performers have been added to the lineup!

As of 2025 Drive-in Movies at the Hangar, all of our movies will be shown at the Iowa City Municipal Airport, so we decided to change the name of the series to reflect the permanent drive-in format! Movies start approximately 30 minutes after sunset, and all movies are family-friendly.

The 2025 series will feature four exceptional film screenings throughout the summer at the Iowa City Municipal Airport. Admission is free.

Music on the Move returns for its 6^th year with an exciting lineup of 12 free Wednesday evening concerts throughout various parks and locations in the Iowa City area. All concerts run from 6:30-8 PM and feature talented local musicians representing a variety of genres.

Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy live music in an intimate setting in our beautiful area parks and other locations around the Iowa City area. Admission is free.

The 2025 Public Art Matching Grant is open for applications! This program supports visual, audio, and performance-based art projects that are freely accessible to the public in Iowa City. Grants range from $500 to $4,000 with a 50/50 matching fund.

Eligible matching funds include other non-City grants, donations, personal contributions, and in-kind services or commodities/supplies

Deadline: March 14, 2025

Projects must be completed by: December 31, 2025

A life changing opportunity for creative young talents to launch their artistic careers at one of Iowa's premier cultural events! The Emerging Artist Area at the Iowa Arts Festival showcases students from Iowa colleges, universities and high schools AND young people between the ages of 16-25 who are not enrolled in high school or college.
