HPL Recognized as a Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite |

On behalf of the Connecticut Breastfeeding Coalition (CBC), Hartford Public Library (HPL) was recognized as a Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite. This acknowledgement identifies the Library as an institution that supports working parents in meeting their breastfeeding goals.
“On behalf of the CBC I’m thrilled to welcome Hartford Public Library to the family of Breastfeeding Friendly Employers in our state! It’s a short-term accommodation that has life-long health impacts for parents and children. And the benefits extend to employers through a variety of cost savings and productivity gains,” said Monica Belyea, MPH,RD, CBC Board Chair
The Center for Disease Control was so impressed with HPL’s breastfeeding policies and procedures, the Library was asked to share its materials with the CDC so it could share with other cities and states throughout the country.
