#GiveAtHomeMN - Last Day!

Today is the last day to support the JP4 Foundation during #GiveAtHomeMN. We recognize financial situations of many families have been negatively affected by the COVID-19 crisis and believe our organization will be in a unique position to help families maintain access to baseball after we're allowed to return to the game.

To close out #GiveAtHomeMN, we are looking for 500 people willing to donate $5 to help support our mission of enriching the lives of youth through baseball. We hope to hear shouts of "play ball!" soon and intend on being available to help facilitate the return to normalcy.

During this #GiveAtHomeMN, we also want to thank all of our donors, volunteers, partners, sponsors, and board members who make this organization run. With your help, we will continue to enrich the lives of youth through baseball for many years to come.
Rockstar Interns Find a Way to Give Back!

This past week, two of our interns from the University of St. Thomas ran a "Give Back" campaign for the JP4 Foundation. Rian Weber and Emma Schaefer put together this campaign to boast morale and grow the JP4 social media presence. They secured donations from local businesses and randomly drew social media followers who engaged on the contest post.

Prizes for this "Give Back" campaign included two tickets to the 2021 College World Series, two tickets to the last ever Tommie-Johnnie Football game at US Bank Stadium ,
a signed Reggie Jackson Hall of Fame baseball,  and more.

The campaign finished with great success and the two are already getting back to work for the next campaign. Thank you, Rian and Emma! Your ingenuity and perseverance are impressive!
Fifth Annual Golf Tournament

The JP4 Foundation is incredibly hopeful and optimistic that we will be able to hold the Fifth Annual Johnny Price IV Memorial Golf Tournament later this summer. We are hopeful the State of Minnesota and CDC will soon offer guidelines that will allow us to move forward with this event.

This tournament serves as a key fundraising  opportunity, drawing golfers and non-golfers alike, to come together to recognize and celebrate the legacy of Johnny Price IV.

If you've joined us for golf in the past, watch for a survey in your inbox later this week. We'd like to hear from you - our constituents - about your participation in the golf tournament this year.

Apply Now for the Johnny Price IV Memorial College Scholarship

Applications for the Johnny Price IV Memorial College Scholarship are being accepted through June 1st. This scholarship is unique because GPA, ACT, and other statistics on or off the baseball field are not considered.

The Johnny Price IV Memorial College Scholarship is open to all high school senior baseball players who exemplify the characteristics of the late Johnny Price IV, a Lakeville standout who often spoke of his desire to help others experience the sense of belonging that comes from being part of a team. Johnny's kindness, empathy, and thoughtfulness toward others will always live on.

JP4 Summer Camps will Look Different in 2020

We remain optimistic about our future and are continuing with plans to offer three summer-long baseball camps for kids in at-risk communities. We place a high value on these camps which prioritize nourishing the minds and bodies of campers above athletic skills.

Clearly, our communities' value these camps as well. Camp sizes have increased year over year. In 2020, the JP4 Foundation plans on impacting 120 kids throughout East Saint Paul, North Minneapolis, and South Minneapolis this summer, in partnership with the Police Activities League of Minneapolis and the Sanneh Foundation.

While we await direction from Governor Walz and the CDC, our Board of Directors continues to meet to discuss contingency plans to address the needs of these communities throughout the summer months.

"We are actively working to identify alternative approaches. We're confident we will find a way to engage with kids in these communities to offer healthy food, healthy activity, and opportunities to build healthy relationships;" said Jeff Huth, JP4 Foundation Executive Director. "We'll do what it takes to get creative and make sure we have a presence in these communities."
