The Visitors Desk Moves to the Heart of Downtown

The Redding Convention and Visitors Bureau opened its doors at the new location in 1448 Pine Street in downtown Redding – right across the street from our friends at the Chamber of Commerce. We’re in the historic Thompson house, which has seen a variety of businesses come through since being built in the late 1800s. With the community’s focus to activate downtown areas, we wanted to join the party.

“The Redding Tourism and Marketing Group wanted to be right in the heart of the downtown revitalization,” said Laurie Baker, CEO of the Redding Visitors Bureau. “We’ll only be steps away for visitors to find information on other ways they can enjoy our beautiful city and region.”

Visitors can find information on things to do and places to eat in Redding and the Shasta Cascade region known as UpStateCA by talking to our friendly staff or by going online at VisitRedding.com.

Our visitors desk is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the weekends. Stop in and say hi!
Marketing Campaign Highlights 'How to Spend a Weekend in Redding'

Have you ever gone to a city and didn’t know what you wanted to do? That’s where we come in. The Redding Visitors Bureau launched a marketing campaign called “72 Hours in Redding” for the second straight year. It showcased some of the best activities and top attractions in the area in a fun, adventurous and inspirational style.

This year’s campaign highlighted the Lake Shasta Caverns tour, kayaking at Whiskeytown Lake, hiking in Burney Falls and Lassen Volcanic National Park, and enjoying the atmosphere at The Park – Redding’s Food Truck Hub. This year’s video campaign reached more than 250,000 people across Facebook and Instagram in the Sacramento, Bay Area, Los Angeles, Reno, Medford, Eugene and Fresno markets, and our videos were watched to completion over 281,000 times!

We’d like to thank all of the above locations for partnering with us to help show potential travelers why Redding should be in their vacation plans.
Convenience a Major Factor for Flights to LAX and SFO

We see it all over the place – support local businesses. With slogans like “Shop local” and “Small Business Saturday” during the holiday season, we are pushing more and more to help our neighbors out. The Redding Municipal Airport needs the same support. The daily direct flight to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is a “win” in every sense of the word and is convenient when it comes to your business trips. When you factor in drive time to Sacramento, parking and long security lines, is it really the most efficient way to spend your time? And we know how valuable time is. So, if you have a trip coming up, give Redding a try. Book today at United.com.
