A message from your District Administrator

Dear Parents & Caregivers,

Following the return of students and staff from a week-long spring break, there is no doubt the last 43 days of the current school year will result in a flurry of busyness to close out a successful school year. Once again, the SDWD has large in part successfully navigated the effects of COVID and have large in part put this in our rearview mirror. In doing so, our students will be the benefactors of forging ahead and being in school nearly 100% of the time. At times, numerous challenges presented themselves in our efforts to keep daily operations going forward. In return, I offer a big “thank you” to all that have had a hand in making this happen! With that said, it is vitally important to maintain a high level of student engagement these next 43 days of the school year. Now is not the time for diminished attendance nor reduced student engagement. Now is the time to increase focus on finishing this school year on a positive note, giving your best effort and digging a little deeper on those days where you may not be your best are vital to finishing the school year with a successful end.

Please note our 2022 summer school session will run for four weeks. It will begin on Monday, July 11, 2022 and run for a total of four weeks ending on Thursday, August 4, 2022, giving everyone about three-plus weeks to recharge for the upcoming 2022-23 school year. As such, please see the link to next year’s school calendar for the 2022-23 school year. The calendar was based on survey respondent feedback the District obtained from parents and the staff.
