Sustainable Country Gentlemen Transition
into Fall

InFARMation - A lot is going on with Sustainable Country Gentlemen. We owe it all to you, our customers, who have been so supportive of our project. It was not until we realized that our dream of how a farm stand should work was the right one. We had been told for the past 15 years what we should be doing. We had been told by some truly respected and successful people. We listened, but it wasn't until we did it the way we always knew it needed to be done. Hence the farm stand at the farm is stocked with affordable, local produce on a regular basis.
Our backgrounds work like a great interlocking puzzle to allow it to function as it does. Ed has a Management and Business degree from Moravian College. Add to that nearly 50 years of retail and marketing background and there is some sense why we do the project the way we do it.
Chuck has Restaurant Management studies from NCC. Add to his background are Certificates in Floriculture, Fiber Arts, Herbalism, and limitless self-taught artisan specialties. He has won several awards for his work at The Great Allentown Fair and elsewhere. He has shown his works at art shows in the greater Lehigh Valley over the years.
We round off the project with Art. He has farmed for his entire 90 years of age. His expertise in farming and agriculture is unparalleled. He is a vital part of what makes the farm do what it does.
While we are looking to expand into a couple of new areas in the coming months and years, we are committed to doing it with the same vision that has allowed us to do what we do now.

Fall Craft and Artisan Exposition and Sale. We are excited to announce our Fall Show. We often list in our Facebook notices "Sustainable Farmer - Sustainable Far More". On Saturday, September 24th from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM we are pleased to be showing a huge variety of hand-designed and hand-made seasonal and holiday items. We want to be clear that everything shown and presented for sale that day is HAND MADE. Personally, we have been to too many shows that are listed as "Craft" Shows only to be disappointed that they are primarily "Vendor" Shows. This is not one of those. These are artisan crafts created by Chuck, expressly for this day. These items have not been on sale anywhere else prior to this show. The sample of pictures is just a small number of the countless hours that are going into making this a show that has the same vision as everything else we do. It needs to be affordable, locally crafted, and of exceptional quality. We guarantee that everything showed that day meets that criteria. The pictures in the left margin are a small sample of what will be offered that day. We are so looking forward to that event.
-------------------------------------------------------"Take What You Need, Pay What You Wish, Pay What You Can" From time to time, as we are able, we offer out our fresh, locally grown produce with no prices listed. We started doing this during the pandemic in 2021. Recognizing that a number of things came together to make getting and having quality food was tough. Supply chains, income, accessibility, and personal contact made it a challenge. A number of years ago, we read a chance article in Lehigh Valley Style magazine about food insecurity. It made the bold claim that 1 in 7 people in the Lehigh Valley suffers from a food issue. The issue is not limited to large cities. It is everywhere. Since we started doing this, we have received some of the most touching emails and texts about what a difference the availability of the food like what we offer has been to families. We hope to be able to offer other projects like this in the future.
--------------------------------------------------------Thank You-While we are in the middle of September, this is far from over. We saw Labor Day as about the halfway point of our season. We have the vibrant summer season of all the melons, corn, etc, but starting within a week we will see the second half of pumpkins, squash, mums, bales, and stalks. It is equally an exciting time. Last year we closed the day before Thanksgiving. For 2022 no definite decision has yet been made about lengthening the season into the December Holiday. Whatever the decision we want you to know how much we appreciate what you have done for us so far this year and that there is much more to come
