David A. Pletcher, age 76 Years, passed away August 27, 2018 at his residence.

Friends may call on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at the Gardendale Church of God at 4130 Spencerville Rd., Lima, OH 45805. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon at the Gardendale Church of God at 4130 Spencerville Rd., Lima, OH 45805. Officiating the service will be Rev. Vern Plyler. Following services, there will be military funeral honors provided by the U.S. Air Force and the VFW #1275.

David was born November 19, 1941 in Plymouth, IN, to Clarence and Virginia (Murray) Pletcher who preceded him in death. On March 17, 1961 he married Sylvia (Blackwell) Pletcher who survives in Bluffton. Sylvia has been a long-time employee of Forever In Stitches and a member of the Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters.

David was a 1959 graduate of Plymouth High School, Plymouth, IN. After high school he joined the U.S. Air Force and served in Korea. David worked as a tool crib inventory specialist with Air Foil Textron for 30 years until they closed their doors. He then worked as a machine operator for DTR in Bluffton and retired from there in 2007.

David was a member of the Gardendale Church of God in Lima where he had served as treasurer and usher. David loved to garden, spend time with his grandchildren, and help them with their 4-H projects.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his children: James (Mary) Pletcher of Harrod, OH, John (Lori) Pletcher of Waynesfield, OH and D. Paul Pletcher of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a sister, Sharon (Pletcher) Formhals of Youngstown, OH. He was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Davida Pletcher and Lynnette Pletcher, a brother, Daniel Pletcher and a brother in-law, Roger Formhals.
