American Heart Month
Let's go RED Monday 2/4!
February is designated as American Heart Month to bring attention and awareness to the prevalence and severity of heart disease in the United States.

Would you like to support lifesaving research, education and provide a health information on cardiovascular diseases while coming out of your Monday uniform? You can!!!

On Monday, February 4, 2019 in recognition of American Heart Health the Mighty Mustangs are asked to donate $1.00 and wear red.

The money collected will go the American Heart Association.
Dragon Genetics
As part of the project on heredity, Dr HenMc's students were given parental genes and had to do a coin toss to determine their "dragon baby's" genes. They then had to use the genes to determine what the parents and offspring looked like using a key and various types of inheritance.

Sounds like fun, right? The students had a blast!

Boys Soccer Support Drive!

The wonderful young men of TSTEM Academy @ EHS are in need of uniforms. The boys on our team work hard all year to maintain good academic standing. They are a group of athletic and academic achievers with big dreams but funding is limited for small sport athletics.

Save your spot for next year!

We are on track for a record number of applicants next year... save your spot by submitting your Optional School renewal that was sent home with report cards!
Spotlight of the Week
Mr. Daniel Warner
After graduating from Belmont University in 2013, I moved to Memphis to join the Memphis Teacher Residency and enter the world of urban education. I've taught American History, AP U.S. History, and Facing History at East High School now for 5 years. In my summers, I am an adjunct professor for Union University's Master of Urban Education program, training teachers to engage students with culturally competent pedagogy. Mr. Warner is one of the most beloved teachers and his passion for history is contagious. Whether he is planning a Facing History activity, Student Council events, or working hard to emcee Homecoming events, he is a proud Team East member!
