Adopt A Pet from the Lassen

County Animal Shelter – Beau

Hey there, future best friend!

I’m Beau, a 2-year-old, fun-loving, tail-wagging superstar looking for my forever stage—uh, I mean, home. With my movie-star looks, boundless energy, and heart of gold, I’m basically the total package.

I’m dog-friendly, people-loving, and always ready to turn heads at the park. Whether we’re going for a run, playing fetch, or just soaking up the spotlight together, I promise to keep life exciting. Don’t worry, I’m also neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative, so I’m ready to roll.

Lassen Advocate Will Move From Main to Cottage Street

February 17, 1934

As the starter of what appears to be quite a general shift in locations by business concerns, Lassen Advocate will move about March 10 to the Emerson building on Cottage Street at the rear of the Methodist church. Its lease, with more than seven years yet to run at 610 Main Street, has been acquired by Safeway stores.

In each case the buildings will undergo extensive alterations, calling for the expenditure of considerable sums and the mechanics for several weeks.

A main street location in the “high rent” district is not regarded an essential in the publication of a newspaper, while retail business demands a central location and in reality creates the “high rent” district.

The transaction on the part of Safeway means the removal of their store at the corner of Main and Gay to the new location vacated by The Advocate, and the discontinuance of the MacMarr store at 714 Main, April 1.

The changes are to be made as soon as alterations to the buildings are complete.

It is anticipated that these two are the first of a series of several business changes, already contemplated but lacking the definiteness of signed leases.
