“Patty, Sam, and Bre Glass of Milwood Florist and Nursery, Treats Natural Pets Marketplace, and Farmers Insurance, for once again for providing the chef’s work for the dinner; thus, maintaining high standards for the dinner.”
“We would like to thank Susanville IGA for the wonderful rolls and cabbage. Thank you, Safeway for the delicious cookies. Grocery Outlet, thank you for the mustard, horseradish, tin foil and baggies. Model Dairy, thank you for the butter for the rolls. Thank you to Margie’s Book Nook for offering our meal tickets for sale. Thank you, Susanville Ace Hardware for the donation of the bags to carry the meals home in. This truly was a community effort.”

“We would like to sincerely thank all the community members who supported the event and purchased a meal and those who made a generous donation.”

According to Todd the money earned from the annual dinner does go right back into the county to support spaying/neutering dogs, cats, the Pups on Parole program, and to assist pets in emergency situations.

Your voice does matter, and you are invited to share stories of share stories of crashes, near misses or places you felt safe or unsafe travelling in Lassen County. You can leave your stories at this website.

There will be two open houses to discuss the Transportation Plan, one at the Westwood Depot Visitor Center, March 30th from 4:30 to 6:00p.m., and at the Susanville Railroad Depot on Richmond Road from 4:30 to 6:00p.m. on March 31st.

One of the most enjoyable affairs of the season was the Leap year dance given by Artemisia Parlor, No. 200. Native Daughters of the Golden West, at the Native Sons’ Hall, Tuesday night.

About a hundred guests enjoyed the evening. A dainty supper was served in the large banquet rooms downstairs.

Much preparation is being made for the Kirmess, to be held in Susanville. The proceeds will go to rebuild the Methodist Church, destroyed by fire last August.

The entertainment will be held at the Orpheum Theater and will consist of many interesting features, among them being a baby show, cooking contest, musical program, farce by home talent, fancy work booth and everything to eat besides many other features.
