Adopt A Pet from the Lassen

County Animal Shelter – Goliath

It’s been raining Great Pyrenees at the Lassen County Animal Shelter and Goliath is ready to find his new forever home.

This Pyrenees mix is big, handsome, and sweet. He’s done well with introductions to other dogs through fencing and even lays down to make himself smaller when encountering miniature canines. Goliath adores people and will greet strangers in the kennels gently. Staff has even observed that he’s very housebroken; Goliath will wait all night to be let out to potty in the morning.

animalshelteradopt image

Now, if Goliath has any behaviors that need attention, it would be that he’s a door dasher. If he sees an opening, Goliath will attempt to bulldoze past a person to leave a kennel/enclosed space. Due to his size, his handler MUST be aware of this possibility and be prepared for it. Seeking professional training help is highly recommended.

Goliath is estimated to be about 3-4 years old. He’s been neutered and brought up to date on his vaccinations. If interested in meeting Goliath, or other adoptable animals at the shelter, please call staff at 530.257.9200.

Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis. According to California law, all adoptable dogs and cats must be spayed and neutered before leaving our facility. If interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter directly.

Current shelter hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday. You can contact the shelter at 530.257.9200.
