Adopt A Pet Today from the Lassen

County Animal Shelter – Fancy & Prima

Fancy and Prima are a pair of senior gals, about 12+ years old, whose hobbies include bird watching, tuning in to their favorite soap operas, and lounging in the sun.

Unfortunately, their previous owner passed away and there was no family available to take them in. These ladies are sweet as can be and staff would love to make their stay at the shelter a short one.

Their history with dogs is unknown, though they don’t seem to mind dogs walking by or inspecting their enclosure. Fancy and Prima are both spayed and ready to find their new forever home together. If interested in meeting these gorgeous calicos, contact the Lassen County Animal Shelter at (530) 257-9200.

Lassen Housing Plan Supported

September 19, 1950

Purchase of the veteran’s housing units for Lassen Junior College student’s families by the school district was approved this week by the state department of finance, according to word received by Supt. L. V. Greenleaf.

The school district will pay $6,500 for the buildings to the state department of finance which has held 90 percent of the title to the buildings. The federal government originally erected the buildings.

The school district has owned 10 percent of the buildings. Full ownership will give the local school district freedom to use them as needed; now only veteran students may be housed in the units.

Twenty family units and a dormitory for 35 men are involved.
