This webinar will provide an overview of recent Executive Orders signed by Governor Lamont and their affect on municipal operations. Municipal attorneys will describe the impact and intent over local municipal decision-making.
There will be general overviews of:
- existing Executive Orders as they relate to public meetings, public hearings and voting requirements, as well as FOIA considerations.
- existing Executive Orders as they relate to the municipal budget process including all public/quasi-public agencies to which they apply.
- existing Executive Orders as they relate to local and regional school boards and the budget process, including the need to coordinate with local legislative body(ies) in the overall budget process.
We will also offer practical advice on the mechanics of a revised budget adoption process in the virtual public meeting regimen required by the Executive Order. Lastly we will provide information on available platforms for virtual meetings and other practical considerations that municipalities should have when taking public meetings online.
