Ninety percent of Area Agencies on Aging provide transportation services, a critical resource for older adults’ health and social engagement needs. COVID-19 has changed the demand for and management of transportation programs. Using data from the most recent AAA National Survey, this webinar will give a brief overview of AAA involvement in and funding for transportation programs. During the webinar, staff from the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) and the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (NADTC) will provide highlights from the AAA National Survey and an overview of the connection between AAAs and transportation.
This webinar will spotlight two rural AAAs sharing their unique perspectives on the impact that COVID-19 has had on transportation services, new funding opportunities for AAAs under Section 5310 from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and promising approaches in rural transportation. Using polls, Q&A, and discussion, participants will share feedback with n4a and NADTC about their TA needs and transportation experiences.
