Keeping You Current
October 2013 Monthly Newsletter
Hi ,

On October 23rd, I will present part 5 of my Master the Maze of Health Care Reform webinar series. This installment will examine Covered California's launch and what it means for groups with 50+ full-time equivalents (FTEs) and groups with under 50 FTEs.

With the implementation of the Covered California insurance marketplace comes a host of new regulations regarding financial assistance, eligibility, and enrollment, and we have upcoming educational opportunities that will assist you in understanding Covered California and what it means for you, your business, and your family.

We've launched our "Get Covered" Workshops to help part-time employees who aren't eligible for group benefits learn about their options and enroll in coverage; you can find more information about these workshops below. The goal of these workshops is to help guide individuals from education to enrollment.

With all of these options available, it's important to use a licensed agent to examine your options. If you purchase coverage directly through Covered California you only receive the assistance of an unlicensed "navigator". Our agents are all licensed and have the training and experience to help you make the right choice. It doesn't cost you anything to work with our licensed agents, but it could very easily save you money in the long run.

You can always call or email us directly with any questions; we are passionate about helping you navigate this new system!

Best regards,

Laurie Rood, CEO

Covered California is now officially open for business, bringing with it a new set of regulations for you to understand. On Wednesday, October 23rd, Laurie will examine the latest updates to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and explain how the opening of Covered California will affect individuals and businesses.

There will be two webinars available: one for groups with 50+ full-time equivalents (FTEs), and one for groups with less than 50 FTEs. Visit our calendar to sign up for the appropriate webinar for your business. If you have any questions you'd like Laurie to answer during the webinar, please send them to us ahead of time so we can integrate them into the presentation.

Free workshops for part-time workers not eligible for benefits

Our "Get Covered" Workshops are a great opportunity for your part-time employees who aren't eligible for benefits to spend time one-on-one with a licensed agent and explore their coverage options. Whether they just need more information about health insurance and coverage in general or are looking to enroll in a plan, our workshops are a great place to get started.

If you have five or more employees at your workplace who aren't eligible for group coverage that are interested in attending one of our workshops, we can send a licensed, bonded, and insured agent to your company to conduct a private workshop for your employees.

There are seven workshops available in October:

Tuesday, October 8th - 5:30 PM
Wednesday, October 9th - 11:30 AM and 5:30 PM
Tuesday, October 22nd - 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM
Wednesday, October 23rd - 11:30 AM and 5:30 PM

Visit our calendar to get more information about our "Get Covered" Workshops. Register today...space is limited!

Laurie explains why it's critically important to use a licensed agent

Health insurance can be extremely confusing. Some people try to navigate the waters of health insurance on their own only to be blown away by the large number of options available. How do you decide what makes the most sense for you, your business, or your family?

At Benefits Done Right all our agents are licensed, and our agency is licensed, bonded, and insured. Take a look at Laurie's blog to see why it's critically important to use a licensed agent instead of trying to decipher your options for yourself.
