Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security Launches New Health Security PhD Track at the Bloomberg School of Public Health
Join track directors and program coordinators for a virtual information session on October 21 at 2pm ET
The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security is pleased to offer a new Health Security PhD track within the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Environmental Health and Engineering Department. The track will begin accepting students for the 2021-2022 school year, and applicants can indicate their interest within their SOPHAS doctoral program applications, which are due by December 1, 2020. Full funding, supported by the Open Philanthropy Project, is available for up to 2 students per year.

In a world of rapid innovation in the biological sciences, the emergence of new diseases, and changing environmental pressures, health security risks to the global community are a rising concern. The field of health security has a growing need for trained expertise that can provide science-based solutions and inform global policies to shape preparedness and response efforts. This track will prepare future leaders through the study of major biological and health security risks.

Join the track directors, Tara Kirk Sell, PhD, and Gigi Gronvall, PhD, along with the Environmental Health and Engineering academic program administrator, Katie Phipps, and Health Security academic program manager, Natalie Semon for an information session webinar on October 21, 2020 at 2pm ET. They will announce the track, present of a brief overview of the curriculum, and answer questions.
