COVID-19: COREPER ENDORSES POLITICAL AGREEMENT ON THE EU DIGITAL COVID CERTIFICATE TO FACILITATE FREE MOVEMENT
The Council’s Permanent Representatives Committee (Coreper) gave its unanimous support to the political agreement reached with the European Parliament on 20 May on the EU digital COVID certificate.

Such cards typically contain personal information that can be used to steal your identity and commit fraud. That is especially true if your privacy settings on Facebook, Instagram or other social platforms are not strict, allowing the image to be widely shared.

AUSTRIA'S PLANNED 'GREEN PASS' RAISES DATA PROTECTION CONCERNS
Multiple data activists, lawyers and civil society groups in Austria have claimed that the so-called “green pass” the government plans to roll out from 4 June to ensure holders are granted access to most restaurants, hotels and cultural facilities, infringes upon data protection rights.
VACCINE PASSES: PROTECTING HUMAN RIGHTS AND PERSONAL DATA
In a statement on human rights considerations relevant to a “vaccine pass” and similar documents, the Committee on Bioethics is calling for careful deliberation on the challenges raised by such a pass and on the steps taken to ensure that the human rights and fundamental freedoms of all individuals are promoted and protected.
